What Makes This Coffee So Special? Grown by the Zapoteca tribe near the ancient Monte Albán pyramids, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this coffee carries the heritage of a resilient indigenous community that has preserved its Lachiguiri language and traditions despite centuries of Spanish rule.
Shade-Grown in sacred soil
Nestled in the mountains surrounding the pyramids, the coffee is cultivated at elevations up to 1,650 meters (5,400 feet). These high-altitude farms use agroforestry, growing coffee beneath native forest canopy, which enriches the soil with organic matter, preserves biodiversity, and shields the beans from direct sun, enhancing their flavor naturally.
Hand-Picked on a small farm
This is truly small-batch coffee. Each cherry is picked by hand from one lot (Sierra Zapoteca Lachiguiri Pajarito), ensuring only the ripest fruit is selected. Just like with bananas, a ripe cherry delivers far better taste than an unripe one, resulting in a richer, more complex taste
